How to Truly Repent to God When Facing Disasters
Disasters are happening frequently, and many people have realized that only by having true repentance can they be protected by God and have the opportunity to enter the kingdom of heaven, because the Lord Jesus said, “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17). So, what is true repentance? Some brothers and sisters think that, as long as they pray to the Lord and confess sins, help the poor and pray for the sick, and do many good deeds, then they will achieve repentance. Now we can confess our sins, repent to the Lord, and have some good deeds on the outside. However, in the face of interests, we can still lie and deceive others; when other people’s words or actions aren’t in line with our wishes, we will develop prejudices and cannot practice the patience and tolerance required by the Lord. The Bible says, “Holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14). “Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city” (Revelation 22:14). It can be seen that though we can pray to the Lord, confess sins and behave well on the outside, we often sin and resist God and haven’t achieved true repentance. Only when we are cleansed of sins and no longer commit sins can we have true repentance. So, how can we achieve true repentance?
God says, “He that rejects Me, and receives not My words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day” (John 12:48).
“Though Jesus did much work among man, He only completed the redemption of all mankind and became man’s sin offering; He did not rid man of all his corrupt disposition. Fully saving man from the influence of Satan not only required Jesus to become the sin offering and bear the sins of man, but it also required God to do even greater work to rid man completely of his satanically corrupted disposition. And so, now that man has been forgiven of his sins, God has returned to the flesh to lead man into the new age, and begun the work of chastisement and judgment. This work has brought man into a higher realm. All those who submit under His dominion shall enjoy higher truth and receive greater blessings. They shall truly live in the light, and they shall gain the truth, the way, and the life.”
From this, we can understand that the Lord will express the truth and do the work of judgment in the last days to cleanse and save people, so that we can completely get rid of the bondage of sin, be cleansed, truly repent, and be brought into the kingdom of God. Therefore, accepting the Lord’s judgment work is the only way for us to achieve true repentance, be protected by God and enter the kingdom of heaven.
Now, the Lord Jesus has returned, has expressed all the truths to save and purify people, and has shown us the way to achieve true repentance and enter into the kingdom of heaven.
